My Trip to St. Simons Beach
Have you been to St. Simon’s? I have. I’ve actually stayed in a cottage there.
Today, I am going to tell you what I did there. Ok, guess how long it took too get there? If you said ”six hours,” you are right!
When I got out of the car, I ran to my Meme and hugged her tightly. Afterwards, we got everything out of the car. Once I saw my room, I was so exited because it had a tv in the room!
Then, we got on our bathing suits and went to the beach. It was so pretty.
The waves were kind of tiny, but I was glad because they weren’t scary. And there was tons of seashells.
I went kind of deep in the water and there were shells ground into the sand, so when I stepped on the crushed shells, they hurt my feet. Well, that’s when I was jumping over the waves with my brother.
And that gave me an idea! I was working on a shell garden and I got really sandy. I started by picking out small shells and making a rectangle with them. Then, I moved on to do a different thing. I was going to make a little pool for the adults and I even made a seat for them. After that, I was pretty tired I wanted to fall asleep. But, I didn’t. I just kept on working.
Then, I called my mom over to try the sandy seat by the pool I made, but she said she didn’t want to get her bathing suit sandy. But my mom did say that she would get me a bucket full of water to keep the water hole going. And I was glad to hear that. So she got me that bucket of water and it was full.
After that, my Poppy asked me if I wanted to go to the pool and I said ”yes.” It was kind of a long way, but I had to get used to it. Then, there was a small shower where you could rinse the sand off of your feet.
Guess what? There was a heated pool and a freezing cold pool. And of course, I went to the heated pool first. I put my googles on and hoped in. I swam and swam with my little brother. I also practiced my handstands underwater and I dove for toys underwater.
After three nights at the beach, we headed back home. I had so much fun. I can’t wait to go again.
